We are thrilled to announce Hack4Freedom, our answer to this challenge.

This isn't just another hackathon. It is an intensive, two-week program designed to equip female developers in Nigeria with the skills to build their own future using the world's most powerful open technologies: Bitcoin, Lightning, Nostr, and eCash.

Our mission is rooted in a simple belief: true empowerment comes from autonomy, not aid. By training a new generation of sovereign builders, we are planting the seeds for a grassroots movement of women who can solve their own problems, on their own terms.

How It Works: The Hack4Freedom Journey

Hack4Freedom is a hybrid event that blends immersive in-person learning with remote, collaborative building. The program is structured to maximize education, mentorship, and real-world results.

Week 1: In-Person Kickoff & Education
The hackathon begins with a full day of expert-led educational sessions and workshops. Participants will dive deep into the protocols, demystify the technology, and get inspired to innovate.
Weeks 2-3: Remote Building & Mentorship
Teams will collaborate remotely on Gathertown and Discord to develop their projects. Throughout this building phase, they will receive continuous support from dedicated mentors and participate in daily check-ins to keep momentum high.
Final Day: In-Person Demo Day & Finale
The program culminates in a grand finale where teams will demo their projects to a panel of esteemed judges, compete for prizes, and connect with leaders and innovators from the broader tech ecosystem.
